The power of rescue: Peach’s story
In May of last year, Humane World for Animals rescued 67 dogs from a dog meat farm in South Korea—a milestone in the campaign our South Korean team led to secure the country's historic ban on the dog meat industry. After lives of confinement and neglect, the survivors were brought to Canada for rehabilitation, where one by one, they began their journeys toward healing, trust and loving homes. One of those dogs was Cinnamon, now Peach.
At our rehabilitation center, she met staff member Chloe Edmond-Lane, and what started as a foster placement soon became an adoption. "I do feel like I won the lottery with Peach," Chloe shared. "She's a special dog. She brings a lot of joy to my life." Watch Peach's story unfold.
