Despite being illegal in India, thousands of dogs are killed each year for the dog meat trade. They are transported long distances on the back of vehicles, enduring extreme cruelty along the way. During the long journey, many suffer broken bones, severe injuries and dehydration; some may not survive. Those who do are sold for meat upon arrival and brutally slaughtered.

Thankfully, these dogs were rescued just in time. They are now safe with our shelter partner, receiving urgent care and critical veterinary treatment as they begin their journey toward recovery and adoption into loving homes. But this is only the beginning for them, and so many other animals still need our help.
