Paris Fashion Week: End fur cruelty on the runway

This year, Paris Fashion Week is September 28-October 6, 2026. Around the world, designers, consumers and Fashion Weeks continue to turn their backs on animal fur. But of the main fashion capitals, only Paris continues to promote cruel fur at its events.

Tens of millions of animals suffer every year, confined in tiny wire cages and unable to act naturally, before being brutally killed so their fur can be turned into frivolous fur fashion.

Please, speak out for them today, tell Paris Fashion Week organizer Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode to end its association with this brutal trade and commit to a fur-free future now!

I believe that fur is cruel. It has no place in fashion. London, New York and Milan have all stepped away from the brutal fur trade. Paris stands alone in allowing fur to be promoted at its events.  I respectfully ask you, as the organiser of Paris Fashion Week, to end your association with fur cruelty and ban animal fur from your events. 

A recently published European scientific opinion clearly states that the needs of animals, such as mink, foxes, raccoon dogs and chinchillas, cannot be met on fur farms. In addition to the cruelty inflicted on animals, the fur trade is also bad for the environment and a risk to public health.   

So many iconic international design houses—including Chanel, Saint Laurent, Chloé and Balenciaga—have committed to a fur-free future. As have many other brands and retailers, plus major publishing houses such as Condé Nast and Hearst.

Recently, more than 1.5 million EU citizens signed the Fur-Free Europe European Citizens’ Initiative calling for an end to EU fur farming and trade. The farming of mink, foxes and raccoon dogs is no longer allowed in France, an action that was supported by 77% of French citizens. 

Please take this opportunity to end your association with the cruel fur trade and commit to a fur-free future for Paris Fashion Week.
