Tell Your State Representatives: Ban the cruel and inhumane declawing of cats!

It’s time to protect cats from cruelty! Tell our representatives to ban the brutal, unnecessary practice of declawing now.

Declawing isn’t just a simple nail trim. It is a painful, irreversible surgical procedure that amputates part of a cat’s toes. This often leads to chronic pain, behavioral issues, and long-term health problems. Many pet parents who’ve had this done in the past were unaware of the lasting harm it causes.

As of mid‑2025, five U.S. states (plus D.C.) and 14 municipalities have enacted bans on declawing (with very limited exceptions for medical necessity). And declawing cats is widely illegal globally, especially across Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, and Israel. It’s time for our state to stand on the right side of history and do the same.

Cats bring warmth, companionship, and unconditional love into our homes. They deserve to live free from unnecessary suffering.
