Tell the EPA: End Animal Testing
In September of 2019 the Environmental Protection Agency made a groundbreaking announcement that they would end all testing on dogs, mice, rabbits, and other mammals for new chemicals and pesticides by 2035. We were thrilled with the announcement and worked closely with the EPA to get to that moment - but that excitement was short-lived as those clear timelines were subsequently abandoned by the agency under the Biden Administration.
But we have good news – the EPA under the leadership of Administrator Lee Zeldin has indicated that they are getting the agency back on track to eliminating animal testing, and we need your help to support that work!
Without firm commitments in place, completely phasing out of testing on animals could take years, if not decades . This delay could mean hundreds of thousands of dogs, mice, rabbits, and other animals continuing to have chemicals rubbed into their skin, dropped in their eyes, or forced down their throats. There are already many non-animal methods available that are more scientifically accurate and do not cause animal suffering.
This is why we are thrilled that the EPA is moving back in the right direction - but they need to hear from you as consumers and animal advocates. Tell them you support a plan with specific timelines that would do away with using dogs, rabbits and other animals to test chemicals and pesticides!
Please join us in supporting the agency’s plan to phase out animal testing and prevent unnecessary suffering!
