Tell Congress to block funding for more monkey experiments!
Monkeys in laboratories spend their days in barren cages—except when they are being subjected to terrifying and often painful experiments. These inquisitive and social animals may be force-fed potentially toxic substances, infected with diseases, or immobilized in restraint chairs for hours on end.
Recently, the Senate Appropriations Committee earmarked an additional $30 million for the National Institutes of Health to fund these outdated experiments. We need your help to make sure that these funds—which support animal suffering and waste your tax dollars—do not make it into the final appropriations bill.
Primates have historically been used with the hope of improving human health and safety, but animal experiments not only cause immense suffering for animals in laboratories—they can also hinder advances in human healthcare because testing on animals often cannot give us accurate information about human conditions. In contrast, non-animal research methods can more accurately predict how the human body will respond to drugs, treatments, and substances because they are based on human biology, cells, and tissues.
Please join us in urging Congress to prevent expanded funding for monkey experiments in the Fiscal Year 2026 Labor, Health and Human Services Appropriations bill.
