New York: Ask your state assemblymember to vote to prohibit wild animals most often used in traveling acts
Wild animals don’t belong in traveling exhibits and shows. They are typically subjected to neglect, abusive training, prolonged confinement, and their use in shows puts the public at risk. Many of the wild animals in these traveling shows develop behavioral and health problems from the lifetime of confinement and captivity and from being forced to perform archaic tricks.
A.5850 aims to prohibit the use of wild cats, bears, primates, kangaroos and wallabies in traveling wild animal acts in New York.
Dangerous incidents involving wild animals in traveling shows have occurred in New York, highlighting the need for action. Please contact your state assemblymember today and let them know that you support bill A.5850. It’s not entertainment—it’s cruelty.
