Massachusetts: Help replace animal experiments with cruelty-free alternatives!
Countless animals are being used to test products every year in Massachusetts laboratories. Dogs are enduring daily force-feedings of potentially toxic substances, chemical substances are applied to guinea pigs’ skin and ingredients used in household cleaners are dripped into rabbits’ eyes.
These harmful tests cause severe animal suffering and often result in death. Thankfully, humane alternatives that are focused on human—instead of animal—biology are increasingly being developed and can be used instead. These alternative non-animal technologies are typically faster, less expensive and more effective than antiquated animal experiments.
H.989/S.640 would require that Massachusetts laboratories use approved alternatives in place of animals whenever available for experiments that test cosmetics, household cleaners, pesticides and industrial chemicals.
