Pledge to take your pets with you!
Disasters can strike without warning—wildfires, hurricanes, floods and power outages. When they do, your pets are depending on you to have a plan.
Too many animals, especially cats, are left behind in chaos simply because their families didn’t prepare in time. Don’t let that happen to yours.
Make the pledge today to protect your pets and be ready before disaster hits.
Use this list to start building your pet preparedness plan today:
- Have a go-bag ready with at least 3 days’ worth of food, water, medications, bowls, leash/harness, and a familiar toy or blanket.
- Store a copy of your pet’s vet records and keep recent photos in your phone or go-bag, in case you're separated.
- Know your evacuation options, including pet-friendly hotels, emergency shelters, or friends/family you could stay with.
- Label your carrier with your contact info, and make sure your pet is comfortable being transported.
- Practice evacuating with your pets so you both know the drill.
Emergencies aren’t always predictable, but being prepared is.
