Urge Petland to stop selling puppies
Our undercover investigations at Petland have repeatedly exposed animal suffering. The national chain of pet stores (the last national chain to still sell dogs) has been linked to the cruel puppy mill industry.
There are thousands of puppy mills—mass-breeding operations where mother dogs spend their entire lives in cramped cages—across the country being supported by pet stores like Petland. Due to poor sanitation and a lack of quality veterinary care, sick animals are sent home with unsuspecting consumers, breaking the hearts of families excited to welcome their new best friend.
Our undercover investigators have witnessed overcrowded cages and documented puppies suffering from vomiting, lack of appetite, diarrhea, seizures and other conditions. Our investigations found that some puppies even died in the store, after not being taken to a veterinarian quickly enough.
There’s no question that the animals who spend their last days in a Petland store are not treated with compassion, which is why we're asking you to join us in urging Petland to go humane by no longer selling puppies.
TAKE ACTION
Please call Petland today and respectfully ask them to stop the puppy mill pipeline. Call Petland at (800) 221-5935. You can say: "In response to proven links between pet stores and puppy mills, five states and 400 different localities have already banned the sale of puppies in pet stores. Will you stop selling puppies in your stores?"
After making your call, please use the form below to send a follow-up message. Please share with colleagues, friends and family. The more public pressure placed on Petland, and the more calls and signatures we collect, the more likely Petland is to change.
